A watch designed for engineers

In 1976, IWC wanted a fresh new look for their Ingenieur. So they tapped on no other that time. As anticipated, Gerald Genta worked his magic and turned it. As they say,”if it ain’t broke, do not fix it”. So that he utilized genta was no doubt a genius. If you may remember, the Royal Oak also offers this attribute that is interesting.
The Ingenieur was made by them for engineers and scientists. That is why it’s important that it was resistant to magnetism. Meaning, it can withstand guns! It Was Not Always Uphill You can’t please everyone. Take it of himself from the Picasso. When the redesign was introduced by Gerald Genta individuals were furious. The brand even called it”crass”.
You may be wondering that kind of commotion stirred. What Genta proposed was a bezel with the words”Bvlgari Bvlgari” engraved around it. This was in homage to the ancient Roman stone. The dislike for the design didn’t remain long. People learned to love it after a while. Until now, the Bvlgari-Bvlgari is still the flagship model of the brand. The double emblem even became one of their signature motifs which you can see in their purses, jewellery, etc..
