Ulysse Nardin launched a limited edition of its Classico Collection timepiece in celebration of 170 years of fine mechanical watchmaking.
Housed in a 40 mm x 9.6 mm stainless steel case, the shimmering dial of the Ulysse Nardin Classico Manufacture 170th Anniversary Limited Edition is handcrafted in-house at Donzé Cadrans, a member of the Ulysse Nardin group of companies, and a renowned specialist in the art of enamelled watch dials.
The process of Grand Feu enamel is a traditional decorative technique which began to be used in the 17th century. It takes its name from the extreme heat – between 760 and 900° C – required to fuse the enamel powder in the kiln.
The classic look of this dial – with hour, minutes, small seconds and circular date aperture – is further enhanced by the roman numeral display in a blue colour typical of the brand.
The Classico Manufacture is driven by an in-house movement entirely conceived and developed by the Swiss manufacture, the UN-320 Calibre, with a silicium hairspring and anchor escapement. Visible through the transparent case back with sapphire crystal, the movement beats at 21,800 vph and offers 48 hours of power reserve.
