Introducing the Tudor Heritage Advisor Alarm in Black

Tudor began producing their own calibers in house (also, it should be said, separate from older sister manufacturer Rolex) from 2015, originally providing them into their own North Flag game watch and in Pelagos diver’s watches. Since that time, we’ve seen the steady introduction of manufacture calibers during Tudor’s lineup which seems to imply the position from the market Tudor Queen Elizabeth is after. The brand new Tudor Black Bay Steel has the Exact Same MT5612 as Tudor’s North Flag and Pelagos. So, though it isn’t a brand-new caliber, it is still a pretty cool movement with 70 hours of power book, a somewhat standard 28,800 bph operating speed, and a silicone hairspring at a price point where a completely in house movement is uncommon. The MT5612 is new to the Black Bay range because previous models were non-date and used the only marginally different MT5602.Protecting all this from the elements and presumably water (this technically being a diver’s watch) is precisely the same 41mm, 200m water resistant, stainless steel case, featuring alternating brushed and polished surfaces which Black Bay enthusiasts know too well. Different this is the bezel insert that’s made of steel rather than the aluminum existing on preceding Black Bay models. The steel insert looks tough and should add a measure of scratch resistance over aluminum while also providing for a military-inspired rugged appearance. There is an inverted red triangle at the sixty/zero mark on the bezel throwing back to the oldest Rolex and Tudor Subs and including a vintage feel which is further complimented by the riveted-style bracelet.

Originally available only in silver, the Tudor 2784 Heritage Advisor alarm watch is now available with a two-tone black dial.

Taking its cues from the 1950s Tudor Advisor alarm wristwatch, the Heritage Advisor was launched at Baselworld 2011. It features an in-house alarm module added to an ETA 2892 base.

The first Heritage Advisor has a grained silver dial, which gave it an understated and vintage style. This year Tudor has given the Heritage Advisor a dial in different shades of black.

Mechanically the watch remains identical to the silver dial model with the same 42 mm steel and titanium case. This is available with either a steel bracelet or an alligator strap, both versions are packaged with an additional canvas strap as well.
