GIVEAWAY: Trip To American-Made RGM Watch Manufacture In Pennsylvania Giveaways

It is no secret that in its heyday, the American watch industry was the best in the world. Brands like Hamilton, Bulova, Elgin, Waltham, and others were known for producing the best industrialized timepieces and today that legacy is kept alive in scant few places. Perhaps the only true watch manufacture left in the United States is RGM. Started by watchmaker Roland G. Murphy, RGM is located near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a historic hub of American timepiece production.

For the 2013 aBlogtoWatch holiday giveaway, the lucky winner will accompany me (Ariel Adams) on a several day trip to RGM for a unique experience at how watches are made in America. We will spend two days at the RGM manufacture learning about how they make American watches the original way. We will also get a personal, and probably, a behind-the-scenes tour of the nearby National Watch & Clock Museum conducted by Roland Murphy himself (who by the way isn’t a regular tour guide at the museum).

At the RGM facility you’ll get to learn hands-on how they produce watches in-house and get experience with unique machines such as a guilloche rose engine that is used to engrave dials. There will also probably be some unique take-away souvenirs.

When is the trip? That really depends on the winner. Once the lucky person is chosen at random, together with RGM we will select a time that works for everyone for the several day trip to Pennsylvania. It will be an all-expenses paid trip and the best news is that this giveaway is open to anyone in the world. The winner also agrees in advance that their name and likeness can potentially be used for promotional purposes by aBlogtoWatch and RGM. That basically means we reserve the right to publish details about the experience as well as shoot video for promotional or other purposes. This is a pretty cool opportunity so enter below for a chance to win.
