Elegant Blancpain Villeret Quantieme Annuel GMT Watch Review

Front of Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT

Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT case with an annual calendar complication and a GMT function. It is the first time in a stainless steel case.

The layout of the white dial was designed to offer instant legibility of the annual calendar indications and, in fact, the day, date and month are smoothly read off one after the other on the right side. Side of Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is a term used to refer to watches with dials featuring a second time-zone (dual-time) display. In this model, the reference time is displayed in the small 24-hour counter appearing at 8 o’clock. The local time is provided by the central hours hand to which the date is linked.Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT dialThe hands as well as the hour-markers are crafted from stainless steel to create a perfect match with the 40.00 mm x 11.04 mm case, which is fitted with Blancpain’s exclusive patented under-lug correctors. This way, they can be operated by hand without any need for a correcting stylus, as well as remaining hidden from sight when the watch is worn. The one at 1 o’clock enables simple manual adjustment of the day of the week; while the other at 5 o’clock adjusts the month.Blancpain Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT caseback
The transparent case back brings more colour revealing the yellow gold winding rotor, adorned with a guilloché motif, of the self-winding 6054F calibre. This 4 Hz (28,800 vph) movement offers 72  hours of power reserve and requires only one date adjustment per year, between February and March. For the rest of the year, the watch automatically moves from the 30th or the 31st to the first day of the following month.
