The Best Women’s Dive Watches in 2016

citizen-ladies-promaster-ep6050-17e

Are you trying to find the best women’s dive watches currently available? You’ve come to the right place.

Most of my articles on this site aren’t sorted by  gender, but I’ve realized that the majority of watches I talk about here are quite large, usually over 42mm or so. These are simply so big that the majority of women cant wear comfortably, and  a large percentage of men with smaller wrists do not like the latest trend of ever larger watches, either.

However, I also believe that a dive watch needs to be highly functional and large enough to be read with a quick glance. So you won’t find any recommendations for tiny, high-fashion, bejeweled ‘dive watches’ here.

All of the watches in this list will be right at place in the outdoors, whether that’s mountain climbing or SCUBA diving.

Women’s vs. Men’s Watches – What’s the difference?
Many watches aimed specifically at women are not very functional. They only serve as a piece of decorative jewelry (also true of many men’s fashion watches).

Luckily though there are many diver’s watches out there that are suitable to be both called a “women’s watch” and act as a usable dive/sport watch. These mostly differentiate themselves in sizing, sticking to 38mm and under. Brighter colors that appeal more to ladies while still staying legible are also available.

Besides the case diameter, bracelets and straps are also sized down from the men’s version.

So if you’re looking for the best women’s dive watches on the market today, for either yourself or a friend/significant other, keep reading!

#1 – DOXA NOS SUB 200T

Best Women's Dive Watches – DOXA NOS SUB 200T Coralline

Specifications

  • ETA 2571automatic mechanical movement
  • Solid stainless steel case, bracelet, and bezel
  • Unidirectional diver’s timing bezel with US Navy no-decompression table
  • 300 meters (1000 feet) water resistance
  • Sapphire crystal
  • 35mm case diameter (including crown)
  • Bright orange, silver, or black dials available
  • If you enjoy your watches having a little bit of history, the DOXA watches might be the best women’s divers watch for you.

DOXA watches are the original orange dive watch. They have a long history of producing excellent dive watches and every diver I know would love the opportunity to own one. We can’t all afford them unfortunately.

Best Women's Dive Watches – DOXA NOS SUB 200T Coralline SideNOS in this case stands for New Old Stock. Basically, DOXA found a collection of their 1970’s era ladies 200T’s in their “vault” and decided to perform some upgrades.

The case is the only surviving component of the old watches. They’ve upgraded the watches with a new ETA 2671 automatic movement, a thicker sapphire crystal instead of the original mineral, and a new ratcheting bezel.

Best Women's Dive Watches – DOXA NOS SUB 200T NymphComing in at a svelte 35mm case diameter (including crown) the SUB 200T should wear well on even the most slender of wrists, while keeping enough size to read the dial quickly and easily.

Three different dial colors are available: The Coralline (orange dial), the Nymph (silver dial), and the Seamaid (black dial). I couldn’t find a picture of the Seamaid to share, but it’ll be the same look as the DOXA watches

The NOS Sub 200T is a limited edition release, only available while supplies of the old cases last. As of right now I couldn’t find any used ones available on sites like eBay or Chrono24.

    #2 – Omega Seamaster Pro 300 Midsize

    • Solid stainless steel case with rhodium-plated finish
    • Unidirectional diver’s timing bezel
    • 300 meters (1000 feet) water resistance
    • Domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating
    • 36.25mm case diameter
    • Black or blue dial colors available

It’s basically impossible to put together a list of best watches and not include an Omega somewhere in it.

The Omega  is sometimes marketed as a men’s watch, and sometimes as a ladies watch.

In reality, with it’s 36mm case diameter, it’ll work great for anybody of either gender who has smaller wrists or just prefers small watches.

Omega has some other ladies watches that go even smaller, such as the Omega . But at 28mm in diameter I think that’s getting a little small for functional use.

Advantages of buying an Omega Seamaster Midsize?

It’s both a beautiful piece of luxury jewelry and a highly functional diving tool watch. Everything about Omega speaks quality – from the accuracy of the movement to the fit of the stainless steel bracelet.

    Where to buy?

The Seamaster 300 Midsize is no longer being manufactured by Omega, but many watches are still available both new and used. The best place to buy depends on your preferences and budget.

    #3 – Oris Aquis Ladies

    Specifications

    • Oris Aquis Ladies automatic movement

    • 300 meters (1000 feet) water resistance
    • Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating

    • 36mm case diameter
    • 11.90mm thick
    • Available in a number of styles

For as long as I’ve been writing about dive watches I’ve wanted to Oris Aquis Ladies. Oris makes very high quality and good looking divers for a very reasonable price.

The Oris Aquis Ladies is a slightly smaller version of the larger men’s Aquis dive watches. With a 36mm case diameter they’ll wear well on more slender wrists without sacrificing any functionality.

Even the diamond-studded version keeps it’s minimal, functional look though with the diamonds only affixed to the hour markers.

Why is the Oris Aquis Ladies one of the best women’s dive watches available?

Oris has managed to produce a watch that both looks high fashion and keeps it’s tool watch roots. The small but not too small size of the Aquis Ladies will fit many women perfectly.

The Oris Aquis also has a sapphire display case back to show off their signature red automatic rotor. If you like to watch tiny, intricate machines at work then that would make this the perfect watch for you.

And your friends will be quite surprised when you take such a beautiful watch underwater with you.

Best place to pick up the Oris Aquis Ladies?

These are grey-market though and don’t include the manufacturers warranty. You can pay a little bit more and buy the watch from Oris Aquis Ladies to get the full warranty.

which has a number of both new and used Oris Aquis Ladies listed. Sometimes you can get a barely worn used watch for a very good price.

Best Women's Dive Watches – Chris Ward C60 Trident 300 OrangeThe C60 Trident isn’t specifically a woman’s watch, but at a 38mm diameter it should wear very comfortably on most ladies, and watches of this size have been very much in style among women these days.
