Deviate Watches, a micro-brand based out of Toronto, Canada, currently has their second watch live on Kickstarter.

Their first campaign for the C-Series tachymeter/chronograph completed successfully almost exactly a year ago and they’ve spent the time since and all of their profits working on this next watch.

The Ascent Pro 200m aims to offer features and quality usually found only quite a bit above its price range.

They’re asking all of $195 CAD (approx. $150 U.S.) for the Ascent Pro.

What do you get for that $150?

200 meters water resistance, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, exhibition case-back, C5 Luminova, screw-down engraved crown, Seiko NH35 automatic movement, and a very decent looking stainless bracelet.

Good luck finding for this price anywhere else.

And to my eye at least, the three available designs are very good looking.

I think the ‘Slate Silver’ would be the watch I’d pick up personally (I’m in need of a white-dialed diver), but the ‘Desert Gold’ sure isn’t bad either.

Looks like the bracelet attaches in a non-standard way though, so using regular NATO straps and such may end up being difficult.

Of course, all Kickstarter projects come with a certain risk involved. The watches aren’t even supposed to be delivered until March of 2017, and that’s if production goes as planned.

But with at least one watch (that seemed well received from the comments) under their belt, I think Deviate is very likely to fulfill this one.
